Art Aid Israel –  The recent events of 7/10 have left Israeli society deeply affected, with wounds, pain, and countless shattered hearts. In response to this unprecedented challenge. Art Aid program founded by the art curator Iris Elhanani in partnership of the Artists’ House in Tel Aviv.

Our goal is to exhibit and promote Israeli contemporary art worldwide in support of the artists and communities impacted by the October 7th atrocities and the ongoing war in Israel.

We believe that art is an inseparable part of the social and cultural fabric of Israel, a significant mainstay of our identity and society. Therefore, we see the utmost importance in supporting, recovering, and re-developing those in the art community that were affected by the war and ensure the future prosperity of the arts in this region.

Our first initiative, the HeART to HeART Israeli Art Charity Sale Exhibition, was a collaboration of the UJIA organization and philanthropist Susan Coller. The Exhibition took place in the Catto Gallery in London in February 2024. The exhibition revenues supported the Umm Culture Artists Association of Western Negev (the hub of 150 artists in the south of Israel) as well as the 40 artists who participated in the Heart to Heart Exhibition. The Heart to Heart Exhibition revenues funded The Art Therapy program in western Negev communities, and a new Shalter has been placed in the art center in Sderot to serve the communities safely.

Our Partner: Umm Culture Artists Organisation

The home of the Western Negev’s artists is a hub for more than 150
artists from a variety of disciplines. ‘At Umm Culture, we believe that
art and culture are very important components for strengthening
community resilience. Our artists are very active in our communities,
conducting creative and art therapy workshops, initiating art projects,
festivals, and exhibitions. ‘On Black Saturday, 7.10.23, we lost dear
partners, wounded and traumatised, forcibly uprooted from our
homes and scattered across the country. Since then, UMM CULTURE
activities have been dedicated to supporting and empowering artists
on personal, communal, and professional levels. The Association
manages emergency aid to support the artists in Western Negev,
facilitating access to equipment and art materials, resource
mobilisation, exhibitions, and donations to support the artists. Your
kind donation will enable our artists to facilitate creative Art and Art
Therapy workshops for community therapy and rehabilitation.

The Tel Aviv Artists’ House
https://artistshouse.org.il
The Artists’ House in Tel Aviv has been a cornerstone and platform for
the development and promotion of Israeli visual culture since its
foundation in 1948. Beyond its influential role as the home of the first
Hebrew Association of Painters and Sculptors and as an incubator
and engine for the other artists’ associations in the country to be
established – the house also developed simultaneously as a public
gallery for art exhibitions, as a meeting place, experience, and
collaboration of artists and creators from various disciplines, and as
a publisher of Israeli art for diverse audiences in Israel and around
the world.

‘Art washes away from the soul
the dust of everyday life.’
